BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION & MARKETING

The following are Career and Technical Education classes offered in the Business Administration & Marketing pathway at Riverside High School. Some classes may not be offered every semester. Please check with your school counselor to register for these courses.

DECA is a co-curricular professional organization for marketing, business, management, and entrepreneurship students. DECA's co-curricular programs and activity tools teach the practical skills of career preparation while encouraging exploration of career fields and providing actual experience in the world of work. DECA creates community and business-based partnerships benefiting the student and school and connects the importance of life-long learning with success.

Students involved in DECA at Riverside High School (RHS DECA) will obtain and apply practical and relevant business skills for occupations in the pathway of Business and Marketing. Since RHS DECA is infused into the curriculum of the classroom, student learning takes place at school and then is applied in the real world through the RHS Student Store, DECA competitions, and student places of employment; thus increasing skills and levels of retention, accountability, and comprehension.

DECA offers state and national recognition through competition in 30 occupational areas and awards more than $250,000 in scholarships each year. Plus, DECA focuses the student on defining his/her college and career goals and emphasizes the relevance of core studies. DECA is recognized by Congress and endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education.

Any of these classes fulfill a Career & Technical Education requirement.
